IPR can expand your scope of practice with services that include
- Somatosensory and Dermatomal Evoked Potential Studies
- Nerve Conduction Velocity
(NCV) Studies - Musculoskeletal
Ultrasound Imaging
Evoked potential studies evaluate the central nervous system by examining sensory tracts in the spinal cord connecting the extremities to the brain. Studies detect physiological impairment through proximal parts of peripheral nerves, spinal nerve roots, the spinal cord, and the brainstem.
NCV studies are important in diagnosing problems related to nerves, muscles, the spinal cord, and/or the brain. These tests measure the speed and intensity of electrical signals that travel through nerves and calculate the time and velocity in which muscles respond to these impulses. Types of NCV studies include sensory nerve conduction velocity, motor nerve conduction velocity, F-wave, and H-reflex.
Musculoskeletal ultrasound imaging enables physicians to document and evaluate pathological soft tissue densities. Through the use of high-frequency, high-resolution transducers, excellent quality images of soft tissue are provided. These tests provide important information for determining the cause of musculoskeletal symptoms.
